Service & Repairs

STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY. UNCOMPROMISED RESONANCE.

From catastrophic headstock breaks to delicate acoustic stabilization, we repair the foundational bone structure of your instrument to last a lifetime.

The Discipline

LUTHIER-GRADE ACOUSTIC & STRUCTURAL WORK

Wood is an organic, living material subjected to immense, continuous string tension. When humidity drops, accidents happen, or factory joints fail, the structural health of your instrument is compromised. We approach structural work with precision, using internal diagnostic cameras, custom bracing jigs, and period-correct techniques to restore your guitar's structural load capacity without choking out its natural acoustic vibration.

On The Bench

STRUCTURAL REPAIRS HANDLED

Cracked Tops, Backs & Sides

We align and close the crack, then cleat it from the inside with grain-matched, ultra-light wood. Stops the split without killing the way the top moves.

Bridge Lifts & Re-Glues

Complete removal of the lifting bridge, cleaning away old, failed glue down to bare wood, and precision re-gluing to ensure 100% surface contact and maximum acoustic transfer.

Headstock Breaks

High-pressure alignment and closing of cracked or cleanly snapped headstocks. Executed as high-strength glue-only repairs, or reinforced with custom internal wood splines for severe breaks.

Neck Resets (Steam-Off Method)

The definitive correction for old or heavily pulled acoustics. We steam off the neck joint, recut the heel angle to factory specs, and re-seat the neck so the action stays where it should.

Loose Internal Braces

Locating and re-gluing separated or loose top and back braces internally, eliminating structural rattles and preventing soundboard collapse.

Bridge Plate Repair

Reinforcing or replacing worn-out bridge plates that have been chewed through by string ball-ends, restoring solid string anchoring and saving the top from wear.

CATCH YOUR LIFTED BRIDGE EARLY

Your acoustic strings pull on the bridge with roughly 150 to 180 pounds of continuous tension. When the glue joint begins to fail, that tension transforms the bridge into a lever, slowly lifting up and tearing the wood fibers directly out of your acoustic soundboard.

The Paper Test: try sliding the corner of a standard piece of notebook paper under the back or sides of your bridge. If the paper slips underneath even a fraction of an inch, your glue joint has broken. De-tune your strings immediately to remove the tension and get the guitar to our workbench before it causes severe structural distortion to the top.

Chemistry Matters

MATERIALS & ADHESIVES

We match the chemistry of the repair to the historical and structural DNA of the instrument. We never use generic hardware store glues that ruin future serviceability:

Hot Hide Glue (HHG)

The gold standard for historical structural work and vintage instruments. HHG cures into a glass-hard, non-elastic crystalline structure that guarantees flawless acoustic vibration transfer and remains fully reversible for future generations.

LMI & Professional Specialist Adhesives

High-spec, luthier-grade aliphatic polymers selected intentionally for specific high-stress wood joints, bindings, and modern guitar construction.
