The Double-Locking Specialists
FLOYDS DON'T SCARE US. WE BUILD WITH THEM.
Half our own builds carry an Original Floyd or a 1000 Series. Balancing, blocking, upgrading, and rescuing double-locking trems is daily work on this bench.
Straight Talk
WHY FLOYD GUITARS END UP IN CLOSETS
A Floyd Rose in balance is one of the best-feeling systems ever bolted to a guitar. A Floyd out of balance is a guitar nobody plays. One gauge change without a spring adjustment and the bridge lifts, the tuning drifts, and the guitar goes under the bed.
Balancing a double-locking trem is a system job: string gauge, spring count and claw tension, baseplate angle, nut torque, and fine tuner range all move together. We set the whole system, one screw at a time, in the right order.
We spec Floyds on our own builds with EVH D-Tunas, brass blocks, and upgraded fine tuners, so upgrades and rescue jobs on yours are home turf.
The System Job
WHAT A FLOYD SETUP COVERS
Full Balance & Float
Springs, claw, and baseplate angle set for your gauge and tuning, bridge parallel at pitch.
Locking Nut Service
Correct torque, clean pads, no pinging, no pitch jump when you clamp down.
Fine Tuner Range Reset
Centered so you have room in both directions when it counts.
Intonation On The Strobe
Locked systems intonated saddle by saddle.
D-Tuna Install & Setup
Instant drop-D on a locked Floyd, set up so it returns true.
Brass Block & Sustain Upgrades
Big block swaps and upgraded fine tuners, the same parts we spec on our builds.
Rescue Jobs
FLOYD PROBLEMS WE FIX
Bridge lifting or diving after a string change
Tuning drift the fine tuners cannot chase
Knife edges worn from years of heavy use
Stripped saddle screws and seized fine tuners
Gauge or tuning changes that threw the whole system off
